Miss Comportment, Marjorie

Hello, Dear Reader,

Marjorie here.

Your Miss Comportment is back …

Still celebrating Songkran, or Thai New Year!

When last we met

Things were dire.

Body parts laying all about,

Then McMurtry’s house fire.

Then Cassie’s ex, the rock star, came.

His maker he’d soon meet.

Confessions of troublesome crime,

Then shot in the street.

Our angel, Elyse Rossie,

Or Hughes as she’s once again known,

Took up with the new guy, Carson from Cali.

(This writer’s mind was blown!)

Yes, California Carson

Surfed into our streets.

Bought a house and gave money.

(Seems he was looking for a treat!)

One look toward Elyse

And he saw his future bride.

Bernie’s burning jealousy

Was too present for him to hide.

Years with that woman,

Dreams dashed, never met.

Now stuck in a newsroom.

Bernie needed a reset.

A visit to his protege,

Reporter John, an Ivy-leaguer,

Ended badly. John quit.

Bernie didn’t bother to belabor.

Back to the beat he went.

No one else could cover.

Now to get this murderer

And it would all be over!

Then he and Elyse

Might have the ending they deserved.

They’d move to New York – finally!

Now, he could observe!

Now, he’d know every step

“TV girl” Susan took.

In town from NYC to cover a murder,

And, of course, someday write a book.

Wanda, the wild card,

Sat waiting in the wings.

Wondering how to bring tourists to a town

With the taint that murder brings?

Her life’s work in the balance,

The media and rubberneckers bearing down.

The TV interview she’s booked, she believes,

Will raise up our beautiful town!

If only we knew the truth!

Dear Reader, we simply do not.

This is why we are here on Earth, to learn!

Now back to stirring the pot!

WELCOME BACK!

Yours,

Miss Comportment
