Heresy on the block.
Six months ago, the waters ran still.
Middle Valley was peaceful, ideal.
The banks of the Chickotee, a slient refuge
For River Road and its well-heeled.
Newcomers’ high hopes bouncing about,
Whether escaping the city or investing.
The idea of safe streets, low crime, nice things
Made the move for them even more interesting.
But now, Dear Reader, as we turn the page
On what, at best, was a tragic year
We recall the events that led us to this
And look at how we got here.
A severed hand, a shirt torn and tattered.
A foot that was more than a foot.
An ex uninvited, his demise expedited.
Now buried in riverside gook.
A nationwide furor, New York’s on the case,
Much to the locals’ dismay.
For some, however, all press is good.
No body … will get in their way.
We’ve only just begun, Dear Reader,
As we head into 2024.
Thank you for joining, sharing, and following.
And be careful when answering the door!
